Israel approves plan to ease Gaza blockade
Israel on Thursday approved a plan to ease its blockade of the Hamas-run Gaza Strip following weeks of international pressure, but provided Hangerfew details on what new goods would be allowed in.
The security cabinet’s decision came in the wake of mounting international calls to ease the four-year blockade of the impoverished Palestinian territory in the wake of a deadly raid on a fleet of aid ships on May 31.
Under the plan, Israel would “liberalise the system by which civilian goods enter Gaza (and) expand the inflow of materials for civilian projects that are under international supervision,” the government said in a statement.
But it also stressed that Israel would “continue existing security procedures to prevent the inflow of weapons and war materiel.”
Hamas swiftly rejected the plan, which senior leader Ismail Radwan dismissed as an attempt to “relieve the pressure” following the flotilla incident.
“We in Hamas reject the Zionist decision, which is an attempt to obscure the international decision to completely lift the siege on the Gaza Strip,Massager” he said.
The plan is reportedly based on understandings reached in recent days by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Middle East Quartet envoy HangersTony Blair that call for switching from a list of allowed items to a list of banned goods.
It would also allow the entry of more building materials for UN-sponsored construction projects.
Israel was reportedly considering a plan to station EU and Palestinian Authority inspectors at the border to inspect incoming goods, but that proposal did not appear to be included in Thursday’s decision.
Currently thousands of products — some as banal as toilet paper and ginger — are listed by Israel as constituting a “security” risk and prevented from reaching Gaza.
The list also includes construction materials, like metal pipes and cement, which Israel fears could be used for building makeshift rockets and constructing underground bunkers and tunnels.
On Wednesday, Israel allowed eight trucks loaded with kitchen equipment to enter Gaza for the first time since 2006, following recent decisions to allow in snack foods and other household items that were previously banned.
Blair had earlier this week told Israel’s Haaretz newspaper that the plan would “allow us to keep China Massage cushion catalog and Massage Cushion manufacturer directory.weapons and weapon materials out of Gaza, but on the other hand to help the Palestinian population there.”
Blair had negotiated on behalf of the Middle East peace Quartet consisting of the United States, the United Nations, the European Union and Russia.
He said the ultimate aim was to eradicate the need for smuggling through a network of tunnels running under Gaza’s border with Egypt, through which thousands of goods are brought daily and sold at inflated prices.
Netanyahu has insisted, however, that Israel’s naval blockade remain in place — a measure he says is crucial to prevent Gaza from “turning into an Iranian port” through which arms would flow freely.

Are Indians filthy foreigners
In the wake of racist attacks on Indians in Australia, and a consequent backlash to such assaults, a large number of anti-Indian Australian Facebookers have accused Asian immigrants, particularly those from the Indian sub-continent, of being dirty and unhygienic in their public behaviour. In short, they’ve accused Indians of being literally filthy foreigners.
We Indians dirty? What utter rubbish. But it’s not the first time such a charge has been made. Last year it was the British who rubbished us. Tory MP Lucy Ivimy was reported to have said that Indians don’t know how to dispose of their rubbish and are congenital litterbugs. Though she later apologised for her remark, Ivimy’s accusation provoked dudgeon among Indians in not only Britain but, even more so, in India. Us Indians? Creating a mess wherever we go? What a load of garbage.
Unlike people in the West and other so-called developed societies we Indians are scrupulously particular about all matters pertaining to hygiene management and waste disposal. Take the example of household garbage.A family without children will not be happy and complete, so it is necessary for you to know how to ray ban sunglasses in the shortest time.how to get pregnant What do they do with it in these so-called advanced countries? They store it — as though these scraps of leftover food, vegetable peelings, egg shells and other guck were precious jewels — in a special container made for the purpose and generally kept in the kitchen.handkerchief How thoroughly disgusting. Imagine keeping rotting refuse in the kitchen, which after the puja room is the most hallowed sanctum sanctorum of the Indian household.
A barbaric notion totally inimical to 5,000 years of Indic civilisation and culture based on the totems and taboos of ritual pollution. Which in turn is based on the concept of what has been called inappropriate context. For instance, it is appropriate to wear shoes to go outdoors, but it is inappropriate (ritually polluting) to wear shoes plastic hangersindoors, more so within a place of worship. Similarly, keeping ritually polluting garbage within the kitchen and defiling its symbolic purity is an emphatic no-no. So what to do with the muck? Simple. Throw it out of the window. That’s what windows are for, apart from letting in air and light.
The scrupulous cleanliness of us Indians is attested to by the assiduity with which we expel all forms of rubbish, garbage, junk male enhancementand litter from our homes and places of work and dump such offending and offensive matter where it rightly belongs: on our public streets and thoroughfares.
This is what less anciently civilised communities can’t understand about us: the cordon sanitaire that we draw between our pure, pollution-free personal space (our homes, offices, etc) and the public space of the outside world at large (i.e. anything and everything beyond the sacrosanct confines of our homes, offices, etc) which we rightly use for the purpose it has obviously been designed, namely to be the natural receptacle of all our filth and rubbish. That the ‘outside’ India of our public space is unmitigatedly dirty and squalid only testifies to the fact that the ‘inside’ India of our personal domains is squeaky-clean and spotless.

Revealing dresses US teens’ prom choice
Teenage girls in the US are said to be raising eyebrows by heading to their first big dance in cleavage-revealing frocks, bellybutton-baring gowns and nearly handkerchief size dresses.
Parents are being blamed, as the girls are following the trend of ‘slutty chic’ to prom nights, the New York Post reported.

However, organisers are not taking any chances and at certain venues had instructed garba enthusiasts not to wear revealing cholis. “At NID, in fact, a notice had been put up saying there that students should desist from creating a racket by either wearing provocative outfits or boozing at the garba venue,” said a student.

Smokers have lower IQ Study
Cigarette smokers have lower IQs than non-smokers, and the more a person smokes, the lower their IQ becomes, according to Foot spa massagea study of over 20,000 Israeli military recruits.
Dr Mark Weiser and colleagues from Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer found that young men who smoked a pack of cigarettes a day or more had IQ scores 7.5 points lower than non-smokers. “Adolescents with poorer IQ scores might be targeted for programmes designed to prevent smoking,” they conclude in the journal Addiction.
While there is evidence for a link between smoking and lower IQ, many studies have relied on intelligence tests given in handkerchiefchildhood, and have also included people with mental and behavioural problems, who are both more likely to smoke and more likely to have low IQs, Weiser and his team noted.
To better understand the smoking-IQ relationship, the researchers looked at 2,0211 men who were 18-year-old and recruited into the Israeli military. The group did not include anyone with major mental health problems, because these individuals are disqualified from military service.
According to the researchers, 28 per cent of the study participants smoked at least one cigarette a day, around three per cent said they were ex-smokers, and 68 per cent had never smoked. The smokers had significantly lower intelligence test scores than non-smokers, and this remained true even after the researchers accounted for socioeconomic status measured by how many years of formal education a recruit’s father had completed. The average IQ for non-smokers was about 101, while it was 94 for men who had started smoking before entering the military.

Hookahs more dangerous than cigarettes
Smoking hookah is increasingly becoming popular among the youth but its use is more harmful than cigarette, a medical expert warned on Sunday.

According to a survey by the Metro Hospital, hookah cafes have become a trend in the capital and one in four youth uses it.
Lal said the popularity of water-filled smoking pipes may be because of perception that they are safer than cigarettes.
“A false belief among users is that the smoke from hookah is less dangerous than that of cigarettes. This Your one stop source for all of your Wholesale pet supplies and pet food.is wrong,” he added.

“Water pipe smokers are seven times more likely than non-smokers to show signs of gum disease and mouth cancer. Each hookah session consists of 50 to 200 inhalations that each range from 0.15 to 0.5 litres of smoke,” Lal said.
The doctor said that water pipe smoke contains nicotine, carbon monoxide, carcinogens and it may also have greater amounts of tar and heavy metals than cigarette smoke.

What To Get That Special Geek
You’re listening to SCIENCE FRIDAY from NPR News. I’m Ira Flatow. Up next, some advice on what to get that special geek in your life. We are in the thick of the holiday shopping season. Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah. It’s getting a little late to get that gift in, but if you’re still looking for a gift for your favorite geek - should you get an iPhone or a Droid, a Zune or a Touch, a Netbook or a MacBook?
Well, maybe there is a technophile in your family who needs a new gizmo, something new, you know, a first adopter maybe. And what should you do? What should you shop for? Well, we have some help for you.
Mark McClusky is the senior editor for products at Wired magazine. He’s going to help us sort through the technological stuff you might be considering, and he joins us from KQED in San Francisco. Welcome to SCIENCE FRIDAY.
Mr. MARK McCLUSKY (Senior Editor for Products, Wired): Hey, good afternoon, Ira.
FLATOW: Good afternoon, and our number is 1-800-989-8255. If you’ve got a question, a suggestion about a geeky or technology question you’d like, 1-800-989-8255, or you can tweet us @scifri, @-S-C-I-F-R-I, or go to Second Life.
Mark, is there anything new, any technology standouts this year that are must haves for the geek in your life?
Mr. McCLUSKY: I mean, I think there have been a couple of big technology stories this year. I think, probably the biggest is the continued success of the iPhone and iPod Touch and that whole ecosystem that’s been created with all the applications that have been written for it.
FLATOW: Interesting way of putting that, but it is in its own ecosystem, isn’t it?
Mr. McCLUSKY: It is. I mean, we’re up over 100,000 applications available at the app store, which is just an astonishing change from - if you think two years ago, you and I actually talked about cell phones when Android was announced, and the world is completely different. That conversation couldn’t take place in any way, shape or form today.
FLATOW: Well, is there an app that you would say is an outstanding app, if we’re talking gain muscleiPhones - that everybody should have - or an app that helps you find other apps?
Mr.novelty ID McCLUSKY: I’m a huge fan of a few apps, and there are things that I just find utterly (unintelligible) to in my life. The Pandora application for the iPhone and iPod Touch, Pandora is the streaming radio service, music service, that is just sort of uncannily able to surface new music to you that you find interesting and compelling based on sort of what you tell it about what you like. You sort of rate songs as it plays it, and it gets better and better at sort of divining what you might find interesting, and so I’m a huge fan of that.
And then sort of the social media aspect of things. I’m a big fan of a Twitter application called Tweetie.
FLATOW: Tweetie.
Mr. McCLUSKY: Tweetie, as in the bird by I-E instead of Y. It is just a real great demonstration of how elegant these applications have gotten and how developers have really pushed the boundaries of what you can do on a telephone. It’s pretty amazing.
FLATOW: I think one of the really interesting new gadgets out now, speaking of the Internet, is sort of an Internet radio box, like the Squeezebox or something like that.
Mr. McCLUSKY: Squeezebox is a terrific thing. You know, there’s a lot of things out there that are sort of streaming media, and I think that’s going to be a thing that we hear even more about next year. Actually, I think next year could be the time where that really tips over into the mainstream, where you’ve got TiVo interacting with things like Pandora and internet radio.
You have a system like Sonos makes, which is a multi-room audio system that is incredibly well-designed. It’s just - fake idit’s one of those great moments in sort of playing with gadgets where you plug something in, and it just works the way you hope it would. There is sort of no futzing around, which is always kind of a little miniature triumph for plastic hangerssort of good design.
And so I think you’re going to see more and more of that happening in the next year.
FLATOW: Now, people are going to be shopping now - as you say, the iPhone is an ecosystem of itself. Second-running now is the Droid. What - how do you compare the two?

In Newark, Housing for Artists and Others
“WE are going to build this building!” Mayor Cory A. Booker thundered with an intensity that made the veins stand out at the temples of his shaven head. Only moments before, at the same podium, at the same news conference early this month, Gov. Christopher J. Christie called himself a son of Newark and threw his political muscle behind the same project: One Theater Square.
It was a veritable passion play staged at the New Jersey Performing Arts Centeron May 5, with bipartisan actors and concerted Reliability of free Pc Satellite Tv programs on a home PC, or laptop not incurring any monthly charges have consumers changing TV progrhoopla, all meant to stimulate a sense of urgency concerning a longtime plan to build a 44-story residential tower across from the center.
Especially among lenders.
City officials, arts center executives and the developer Carl Dranoff — who built the arts-district Symphony House condominiums in Philadelphia and luxury units on the Camden waterfront Offers fake novelty ID drivers license card reviews and fake id template diploma and degree review.— all exhibited a fierce certainty that arts-loving people would want to live in downtown Newark.
Mr. Christie said it had been an “easy choice” to approve $38 million in tax credits over 10 years for the project, which he did shortly after he took office in January, because the revitalization of Newark and other cities was crucial for the health of the state.
But that still leaves roughly $160 million in financing to be secured for the 328-unit tower, which is to have expensive amenities like a pool and fitness center while having 20 percent of its apartments rented below market rates, to artists who qualify.
Despite the stalling of residential projects all around the Northeast for lack of lender confidence, officials are pressing forward with what was described at the news conference as a “game changing” plan, in a neighborhood where no new market-rate housing has been built in 45 years. Their optimism can be ascribed in part to the way arts center events, along with sporting events at the Newark arena, draw huge crowds. “Newark needs middle-class housing,” said Lawrence P. Goldman, the arts center’s chief executive, who helped conceive the overall plan for the acreage around the arts center — including shopping, additional parks and more residential buildings. In an interview before the conference, he said, “We are going to put up a beautiful, slender tower on a site with the ultimate access to the arts, train service, great views — including, for some, the New York skyline — and attract people of means, no question.”
The arts center opened on Center Street in 1997. Situated along Route 21 and the Passaic River border with Harrison Township, and near Military Park downtown, the center is within five blocks of two train stations: Newark Penn and Broad Street, which are both connected to light rail service.
The mass-transit access is what made the Theater Square project eligible for the state tax-credit program. “The tax credit was huge; it was critical,” said Mr. Dranoff, whose company, Dranoff Properties, was among 12 to make proposals.
“The next step of securing financing is also very important,” he said in an interview, “and we are going to do it. For those who might have trouble believing that, I will just point out that we took on what many people said was an impossible project in Camden, one requiring a jigsaw of public and private financing, and put it together in the six months following 9/11.”
The Victor Lofts in Camden were created after restoration and conversion of decrepit and long-vacant buildings that belonged to RCA Victor, which look across the river to Philadelphia.
“I will knock on every door, and I will not go away,” Mr. Dranoff said. “I will keep coming back until we get the financing to make Theater Square happen. I made that commitment to the city and NJPac, and we will not fail.” He did not specify which or how many banks and lending institutions he had contacted so far, but in the past he has mentioned two lenders who have heard his case with “interest.”
Mayor Booker and his deputy for economic development, Stefan Pryor, emphasized that they opposed development of a Do you admire the girls who have a perfect figure? Stan Jones, a Hall of Famer Ahead of His Time
From the mid-1950s to the early 1960s, Stan Jones of the Chicago Bears was one of the N.F.L.’s finest offensive guards. He played in seven consecutive Pro Bowls (1955-1961), and made first-team All-Pro three times (1955, 1956 and 1959). Jones was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame as the seniors committee nominee in 1991.
Jones was ahead of his time. He’s generally credited with being one of the first players to lift weights seriously. It had been believed that weight training would make a young athlete muscle-bound and result in a loss of flexibility. Jones, however, had experienced It really does’t matter whether a man is handsome or not, the most important thing is to Build Muscle and become a strong man.the benefits of an extensive lifting program since high school.
After an outstanding three-year career as a two-way lineman for the University of Maryland,Do you want to know the secret of penis enlargement, we can offer you the best advice and service. Jones joined the Bears in 1954. That first year, they tried him at right offensive tackle, but at 6 feet 1 inch, he had trouble with the taller, long-armed pass-rushing defensive ends. The next year, the China wooden hangers catalog and Massage Cushion manufacturer directory.Bears moved him inside and he quickly joined the group of outstanding guards of the 1950s that included Abe Gibron and Jim Ray Smith of the Browns, Dick Stanfel of the Redskins and the Lions, Duane Putnam of the Rams, and Jack Stroud of the Giants.
Jones had the ideal build for a guard: squatty and powerful. Chris Snee of the Giants is a fairly comparable player today.
Jones could sink his hips, stay low and maintain leverage. On the line of scrimmage, the low man usually wins. He knew that if he kept his pad level down as he came off the ball, the defensive man in front of him was in big trouble. He also had good balance and excellent body control.
Jones had quick feet and good pulling speed in either direction. He could pull and trap, but he was most visible leading Chicago’s fast and elusive halfback Willie Galimore and its super-tough fullback Rick Casares downfield on power sweeps and screen passes.
It didn’t take long for Jones to make the transition from college to pro-style pass blocking. It was a very difficult skill to master. In those days, the offensive linemen had to keep their elbows in and their hands close to their body. They couldn’t extend their arms as Offers fake original sunglasses drivers license card reviews and fake id template diploma and degree review.they do today. They had to be highly skilled technicians. The inability of the young linemen to learn pass blocking was probably the biggest reason most of them didn’t make it. Women get figure, gyms get richer
The likes of Kylie Minogue and Shakira seem to be beckoning more and more women of Patna. And no, it is not their music videos that is driving them crazy.
It’s instead the pop divas’ “shapely curves” and “great bodies” with “perfect dimensions” that have made them make a beeline outside gyms.

Other methods of losing weight like Yoga and therapy by electronic muscle equaliser also seem to be coming of age. One centre at Fraser Road which, claims to reduce weight up to 40 kg without any exercise with the help of Electronic Muscle Exerciser, has developed an impressive clientele.
